Science Abroad - China: Shandong (June to August)

Saturday, June 7 to Saturday, August 9, 2025 (9 weeks) (tentative)

Students will be encouraged to run a small research project under the direction of the lab supervisor. In each laboratory, students will have the opportunity to learn the techniques and data analysis required for the specific research project, participate in lab discussions and journal clubs, and take part in scientific research presentations. Students will earn an HMB396Y0 credit that can be used towards their degree requirements. 

Program Details

This program takes place in the Cheeloo College of Medicine at Shandong University (SDU) in Jinan, China. SDU is one of the largest universities in China, with more than 60,000 students, 31 faculties and eight campuses. SDU is regularly recognized as one of the top 20 universities in China, has four affiliated hospitals, three non-subordinate affiliated hospitals and 11 teaching hospitals. Students will be conducting research mainly in hospital laboratories. Some research topics in SDU include Neuroscience, Infection and Immunity, and Genetics and Epigenetics.
