Puerto Rico (May - June)

Students will be staying in dormitory accommodation on the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón’s campus. Each room will be double-occupancy with WiFi; two twin-sized beds, desks and comfortable chairs, closets, air conditioning and one small refrigerator. Each floor has kitchens, living room with television and common areas. Other dorm facilities include a computer room, recreation room and laundry room (at reasonable costs).

Students are expected to budget for dinner and weekend meals.

All students are responsible for making sure that their necessary travel documents are in order for them to enter the United States as visitors. Information on the entry requirements for Puerto Rico is available visiting the Global Affairs Canada website. Please note that most governments have implemented special entry and exit restrictions and requirements for their territory due to COVID-19.

As of December 2023, Canadian citizens only require a passport valid for at least six months beyond their return date to enter the United States as a visitor. Citizens of other countries may require visas.

If your flight plans include a stopover in another country (even if it is just a few hours long), you should also check that country's visa requirements in case you require a transit visa for the stopover.

All students admitted to the Summer Abroad program are required to successfully complete an online Pre-departure Orientation (PDO), which will provide information and advice on international health and safety issues. Students are also strongly encouraged to attend an in-person program specific PDO (Date to be confirmed).

There will be a suggested flight itinerary for this program. Details will be provided at the time of admission. Please note that if you choose to arrive earlier or leave later than the available dates for the accommodation option you have selected, you will be responsible for arranging your own arrangements.
