Monday, June 9 to Thursday July 3, 2025 (4 weeks)
The summer of 1997 was the first offering of the University of Toronto’s Summer Program in Hong Kong. In 23 summers over 5,000 students have participated in this incredibly popular and successful program.
In 2025, the program will be offered in a virtual format, allowing students to engage with curated course content and themes related to Hong Kong's history, art, society, and global connections - regardless of where they are in the world.
This Hong Kong summer program is not only of interest to students majoring in East Asian Studies, Asia-Pacific Studies, Religion and Visual Arts, but to anyone who wants to complete an elective course in an academically and culturally stimulating environment.

Experience in Hong Kong - Wherever You Are
- While the 2025 program will be delivered online, students will explore the complex intersections of tradition and modernity that define Hong Kong. This remote delivery format allows students to connect deeply with course themes, even without being physically present in the city.
Program Highlights
- Academic orientation
- Thematic course modules tied to Hong Kong society and culture
- Virtual social events and community connection
- Opportunities to meet peers from across campuses and faculties
- U of T full-year credit upon successful course completion
