Additional Awards
The following awards are not administered through the Summer Abroad office, and are all contingent on adequate funding. Please check with the relevant offices for further information.
International Experience (IE) Awards+
Students participating in a Summer Abroad program who are able to demonstrate financial need may be eligible for funding through the IE Award+. You are encouraged to complete the IE Award+ application, administered through the Centre for International Experience.
- The IE Awards+ is open to domestic as well as international students who are participating in Summer Abroad programs.
- It aims to support students in financial need with a contribution toward their return flight and some living costs.
- IE Awards+ are limited to a maximum of $8000 over two years.

Each College or faculty at U of T offers both non-repayable need-based financial aid awards that may be used to cover some of your Summer Abroad costs. Contact your College or Faculty to learn about additional funding opportunities available to you.

Dr. David Chu Scholarship in Asia-Pacific Studies
This award is given to undergraduate Arts & Science students who are pursuing study or research related to the Asia-Pacific region, based on demonstrated financial need and academic merit. Applications must be submitted directly to Arts & Science by 5 Feb 2024. Further information is available from the Arts & Science scholarships website.

Italian Scholastic Awards
These awards are available for University of Toronto Arts & Science students (St. George campus only) taking ITA358/359 credits in Siena. All students registered in an ITA course in Siena will automatically be considered for these awards by the Department of Italian Studies. Decisions will be based on academic merit only. (Associazione Nazionale Alpini (Sezione di Toronto) and Buchanan Scholarships)
