Science Abroad

Program overview

Offered in China, Hungary, Switzerland, or Taiwan, this exciting program allows science students to complete a research course at one of several prestigious research facilities located overseas.  Students will collaborate with colleagues from other countries, and explore problems of a global nature.  Through this experiential learning process, students will have the chance to relate their academic studies to real-world lab situations, while also earning course credit that will count towards their degree requirements.

Information session

A detailed information session for the Science Abroad program will be held on the UofT St. George campus in January. This session provides an excellent opportunity to hear from the instructor and previous participants, see photos, and ask any questions that you may have.

Date: Tuesday, January 19, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Location: Woodsworth College Residence, in Waters Lounge, 321 Bloor Street West (SE corner of St. George and Bloor)

Science Abroad Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO)

All students admitted to the Science Abroad program are required to successfully complete an online PDO, which will provide information and advice on international health and safety issues.  Students must also attend the in-person Science Abroad Pre-departure Orientation on Wednesday, April 12 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Payment Deadlines

The deadlines for fees payable to the University of Toronto are as follows:
• Application fee: due February 13, 2017
• Non-Refundable Deposit of $1000: due two weeks after admission notification
• All remaining fees: due April 3, 2017
