Costs of Studying in Spain

The deadlines for fees payable to the University of Toronto are as follows:

  • Application fee: February 1, 2023
  • Non-Refundable Deposit of $1,000 due one week after admission notification
  • All remaining fees due: April 3, 2023

Accommodation $ 1,610 Based on single occupancy in the university-arranged residence. Students are also required to pay a 200 EURO damage deposit before checking in the residence and the deposit will be returned in full if there's no damage in the room during the stay. 
ADDITIONAL COSTS    
Airfare $ 1,500 Estimate – cost will depend on departure location and purchase date.
Meals $ 800 Estimate – paid on-site for purchased and self-prepared meals
Local Transportation variable Estimate – Paid on-site if required.
Medical Travel Insurance variable Students must provide proof of medical travel insurance
Miscellaneous Expenses variable All students should budget for miscellaneous expenses (e.g. travel, gifts, etc.)

Domestic (non-Ontario residents) pay an additional $36.

Financial Assistance

The following assistance is available for eligible students participating in onsite programs. For additional awards and further details please see the Financial Aid section.

Summer Abroad Award
Awarded to students participating in the Summer Abroad Program, based on academic merit and financial need. Recipients must be Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident of Canada or Protected Person.
Variable. Up to $4,000.
Dora and Al Track Award
Awarded to undergraduate student(s) taking part in the Summer Abroad Program who completed at least one full-year of study (4 FCEs) with a GPA of at least 3.0 and demonstrates financial need. The student(s) should be Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Preference will be given to Woodsworth College students who have never travelled abroad.
4 x up to $2,500 each
Dr Sam and Dr Doris Lau Bursary
Awarded to undergraduate students participating in the Summer Programs, based on financial need and academic merit. Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Person and be a domestic Ontario resident. 
21 x up to $7,000 each
Dr. Kathleen Wilcox Travel Abroad Award
Awarded to undergraduate student(s) participating in the Summer Abroad Program who has completed at least one full-year of study (4FCEs) with a GPA of at least 2.0 and demonstrates financial need. The student/s should be Canadian citizens. Preference will be given to students who have never travelled abroad.
3 x up to $1,080 each
Ingrid King-Hanna Award
Awarded to student/s participating in the Summer Abroad, based on academic merit and the quality of their application. Open to both domestic and international students.
1 x Approx. $1,300
John W. Browne Travel Award
Awarded to undergraduate student(s) taking part in the Summer Abroad Program who has completed at least one full-year of study (4 FCE’s) with a GPA of at least 3.0 and demonstrates financial need. The student/s should be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident. Preference will be given to Woodsworth College students.

Marjorie E Simonds Travel Award
Awarded to students participating in the Summer Abroad program, based on merit. Recipient must have completed at least one full-year of study Preference will be given to Woodsworth College students.
12 x Up to $6,000 each
Rose Patten International Program Award
Awarded to students, participating in the Summer Abroad program, based on financial need. Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Person and a domestic Ontario resident. Preference will be given to Woodsworth College students.
14 x up to $2,400 each
Ruth Kirkland Summer Abroad Scholarship
Awarded to undergraduate students participating in the Summer Abroad program, based on academic merit and quality of their application. Open to both domestic and international students.
4 x $5,000
Summer Abroad Inclusion, Diversity and Excellence
To be awarded to undergraduate students participating in the Summer Abroad program, based on academic achievement, financial need and recent contributions to the advancement of equity, diversity and inclusion. Preference will be given to Black and Indigenous students.

Awarded to student(s) participating in the Summer Abroad program, based on merit. Preference will be given to a Woodsworth College student.
