Please note that if you choose to arrive earlier or leave later than the available dates for the accommodation option you have selected, you will be responsible for arranging your own housing for the extra day(s).
All students are responsible for making sure that their necessary travel documents are in order. Information on the current entry requirements for China is available by visiting the Global Affairs Canada website. Please note that most governments have implemented special entry and exit restrictions and requirements for their territory due to COVID-19.
If your flight plans include a stopover in another country (even if it is just a few hours long), you should also check that country's visa requirements in case you require a transit visa for the stopover.
As of the time of publication (December 2021), Canadian citizens require a X2 visa in order to enter China as a short-term study student, as well as a passport valid for six months beyond their return date. The visa can be obtained from the Chinese Visa Application Service Center. Citizens of other countries may have additional requirements.
NOTE: Students who need to apply for a X2 visa should apply for it in Toronto. Students can request a letter of support to assist with their visa application by emailing email@example.com after the program deposit has been paid to the Summer Abroad office.
